At our school, we are proud to live by our PRIDE virtues, which help us grow as learners, friends, and members of our community.  Our PRIDE virtues are not simply words displayed around the school; they are embedded into daily life and actively taught through our curriculum, routines, relationships, and experiences. We believe that children learn values best when they see them modelled, discussed, and celebrated every day.

Perseverance is developed through high expectations in learning. Children are encouraged to embrace challenges, learn from mistakes, and understand that effort leads to success. Teachers praise resilience and determination, helping pupils build confidence when tackling difficult tasks.

Respect is taught through positive relationships and clear expectations. Pupils learn to listen carefully, value different viewpoints, and treat others with kindness and consideration. Respect for ourselves, others, property, and the wider environment is reinforced throughout the school day.

We foster an Inquisitive mindset by creating engaging learning opportunities that encourage curiosity and questioning. Children are challenged to think deeply, explore new ideas, and seek answers independently. Through discussion, investigation, and problem-solving, pupils develop a genuine love of learning.

Duty is nurtured by giving children meaningful responsibilities within the classroom and across the school, including caring for and tending to our many and varied animals on our school farm. Whether acting as monitors, Ambassadors, House Captains, Student Governors, Eco Committee Members or simply supporting their peers, pupils learn the importance of contributing positively to their community and taking pride in their actions. 

Being Expressive is encouraged through opportunities to communicate ideas, share opinions, and showcase talents. From classroom discussions and presentations to music, art, drama, and writing, children are supported to find and use their voice with confidence.

Assemblies, class discussions, stories, enrichment activities, and positive role modelling all provide opportunities to explore and reinforce these values. Staff consistently celebrate examples of pupils demonstrating our PRIDE virtues, helping children understand what these behaviours look like in practice.

By teaching and living our PRIDE virtues every day, we create a school community where everyone feels valued, inspired to excellence, and proud of the contribution they make.
